Emma has worked for 10 years in a managerial position in both public and private sector, building commercial, contractual and leadership skills, with particular interest and experience in change management including: cultural change, client transitions, organisational restructures and Management of change projects.
Emma is currently working as a consultant and her last role was the ASCO General Manager (SNS Logistics) and she had overall responsibility for Great Yarmouth and Humberside operations.
Previous to this Emma was 7 ½ years at Petrofac Facilities Management. Emma was the Business Delivery Manager – Renewables at Petrofac and managed a multi-million AC/DC Converter platform project in Germany. Previous to this role Emma was the Services Manager for Petrofac Southern North Sea and was responsible for Commercial, HR, Contracts, Procurement, logistics, marketing and communications, resource contracts and the Great Yarmouth Offices.
Emma has a level 7 Certificate in Coaching and mentoring, a Masters in Strategic HR, a level 7 employment law Certificate, MCIPD, IOSH and NEBOSH Management in international Oil and Gas Health and safety.
Rachel Moore – PR and Communications Manager, TMS Media – Vice Chair
Rachel’s role is to promote WEN in the media and energy trade press, maximising every publicity opportunity to convey our key messages to the industry and the public. A skilled PR practitioner with a long career in news journalism, Rachel has a far-reaching network of contacts on print, broadcast and trade press newsdesks, who know her well and trust her work.
Rachel switched to PR from the news front-line, as a reporter, chief reporter and news editor of daily and evening newspapers when her children were small.
Rachel now heads the PR team at TMS Media, a communications and design agency in Norfolk, working with a range of businesses to develop their PR strategies and plans, managing reputations, making their news headlines, crafting winning award entries and spotting every media opportunity for her clients.
Journalism remains a passion and, for the last 15 years, she has been a weekly columnist for a range of publications for publishers Archant and has written a weekly page in the Eastern Daily Press for many years – a total of more than 1000 columns, lots of opinions and well over a million words.
With her roots in Lowestoft and with many energy clients, Rachel is passionate about the oil & gas, offshore wind and other renewables industries and promoting their successes across media platforms.
WEN also combines her love of encouraging young people and women at any stage of their careers to believe in themselves, aim high and break down barriers.
Beth’s career started in the late 80’s as a PC with the Hampshire Constabulary, after 4 years and a 1st child, a move to the then more family friendly environment of retail management was made. Having completed Laura Ashley’s formal in house management training she went on to manage many stores, mainly in the home counties ending with the flagship home furnishings branch in Windsor that came with more than a million pound turnover and over twenty members of staff. Moving on to HR in Local Government with Wycombe District Council she performed roles such as absence management, senior level mediation, and senior management recruitment and was commended for work in equal opportunities initiatives. In 2006 she became established in her present role joining her husband in his growing business, during her time with Access Inspection Development ltd she has been able to consolidate her skills as a business generalist and play a pivotal part in the company’s growth. Beth has also been voted the Vice Chair for the Women in Energy Network group.
Kim Dexter – Director of Dexter’s Recruitment – Founding Member
Kim Dexter is the proud co-owner and Director of Dexters Recruitment Ltd, which has been in operation since 2010. Having managed a local recruitment company before taking the leap into owning and running her own business, Kim has proven leadership and negotiation skills.
Kim Dexter has extensive experience in management, customer service and recruitment which enables her to provide an honest and professional recruitment service across a variety of sectors, including energy, offshore, commercial and industrial disciplines.Previous to this, Kim has worked in a number of Senior Management positions, has comprehensive experience in commercial and contractual negotiations and has been a leader for 14 years, managing teams of up to 40 personnel.
Liz Davis-Smith BA (Hons) – Regional Manager OPITO UK – Steering Group Member
Liz spent 12 years in the FMCG industry at senior National Account level within the food and drink industry working for PepsiCo, Britvic Soft Drinks and Reckitt & Colmans. She then combined raising a family with studying for a degree during her Career Break. As a Career Returner, Liz went on to hold business development roles at the University of East Anglia and with the University of Cambridge.
Liz now heads up the OPITO business in the East of England and greater South East. Her role interacts with the Oil & Gas industry and its supply chain, skills education, policy, training provision and workforce development – so brings an enthusiastic blend of experience to the Women in Energy UK group!
OPITO is the global Skills Body for the Upstream UK Oil & Gas industry; acting as its Standards Setting Body and as the focal point for Skills, Learning & Workforce development.
Hanna Darwish Davies – Business Development Manager at Pharos Marine Automatic Power
Hanna Darwish is passionate about providing support to women in the oil and gas industry, and sharing her experiences in career development.
Hanna has an MBA and has worked in the marine and oil and gas industry for ten years for companies in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Hanna’s experience ranges from roles in operational management, business development, operations and logistics, gaining excellent knowledge across the industry, particularly in client relationship management, delivery effective sales and marketing strategies and improving profitability.”
